Advisory Board

Connectyx Technologies Corp's Board of Advisors (BOA) consists of a diverse group of medical professionals. The Board meets periodically with Connectyx senior management and research and marketing departments to provide guidance and direction on various projects.

Members of the Connectyx BOA include:

Myron Holubiak

Mr. Holubiak is the former President of Roche Laboratories, USA, a major research based pharmaceutical company (December 1998 to August of 2001). Prior to this he spent 15 years in a variety of marketing, sales and executive positions with Roche Laboratories, co-founded Emron, Inc., a health care consulting company, and served as General Manager of The Plymouth Group, the consulting division of IMS Health, Inc. In 2002, Mr. Holubiak was a partner, President and Chief Operating Officer of HealthSTAR Communications, Inc, the largest, private health care marketing communications company. Mr. Holubiak served on the Board of Directors of the Robert Wood Johnson Hospital Foundation in 1999, 2000-1. He currently serves on the Board of Directors and the Management and Compensation, and the Audit Committees of BioScrip, Inc., a specialty pharmacy company. He also currently chairs the Special Committee of BioScrip. Holubiak served on the Board of Directors of Nastech, Inc., a biotechnology based pharmaceutical company now called mdRNA, Inc., where he was a member of the Nominating and Governance Committee and was the Chair of the Compensation Committee. Holubiak also chaired the Special Committee of mdRNA, Inc. Mr. Holubiak is also on the Board of Directors of the Children of Chernobyl Relief and Development Foundation.

Peter Cossman, 1-800 DOCTORS, COO & General Council

At 1-800-DOCTORS, Mr. Cossman is actively engaged in building "America's Healthcare Concierge" with partners, Jerry Brager, CEO and Myron Holubiak, President, both of whom worked with Mr. Cossman at HealthSTAR Communications, Inc. Formerly a seasoned commercial litigator, Mr. Cossman now combines over 20 years of private practice with more than 15 years of corporate legal expertise in the private sector where he has served as General Counsel or Chief Legal Officer of three companies in the technology and healthcare industries. Working closely with outside counsel in areas of tax, securities, corporate finance, legal compliance, intellectual property and debt and equity finance, Mr. Cossman is able to combine his broad business experience with practical legal judgment to counsel and advise his clients.

He also has extensive experience in structuring, organizing, managing and operating start-up companies. Peter Cossman’s specialties are: Expertise in commercial litigation; franchise law; technology commercialization; corporate governance and financial structuring; and, real estate development.

Ronald J. Pion, MD

Dr. Pion draws upon significant experience in leadership roles in both public and private companies in the healthcare arena. His track record of developing companies and defining business strategies that break down barriers to quality patient services is notable. He serves as a Special Advisor to the Galen Capital Group. As a physician, visionary and business professional, Dr. Pion combines a practitioner's perspective with healthcare industry expertise and corporate experience to provide assistance to the CTC organization and its clients.

Dr. Pion began his career in academics serving on the faculty of the University of Washington and the University of Hawaii. Having recognized at an early stage the benefits technology and new media bring to the practice of medicine, he became a pioneer in the area of medical telecommunications and has worked in that arena for more than 25 years. He served as a full-time medical correspondent for KNBC television in Los Angeles prior to founding the Hospital Satellite Network, the nation's first daily satellite-delivered television service providing programming for hospital-based health professionals and patients.

In 1991, Dr. Pion joined the turnaround team at ABBEY Healthcare Group and provided strategic services to the company's private placement and IPO in 1992 and the formation of the resulting company, Apria Healthcare. A former director at Lido Capital, Dr. Pion is currently Chairman and CEO of Medical Telecommunications Associates, serves on the board of various companies including CMTC, and is an advisor to The Laurel Company and MedSphere. Dr. Pion graduated from New York University (B.A., Phi Beta Kappa) and New York Medical College (M.D., Alpha Omega Alpha). He is a Clinical Professor at the UCLA School of Medicine, a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and served on the board of the American Academy of Home Care Physicians.

Louis A Frank, O.D., F.A.A.O.

Dr. Frank received his B.S. and Doctor of Optometry degrees from the Massachusetts College of Optometry (now known as the New England College of Optometry) in 1976. During his 33 years as an Optometrist, he has been in his own Private Optometry Practice both in Mechanicville, New York and in Danvers, Massachusetts. Dr. Frank has worked in the Ophthalmology Practice of David C. Brown M.D., Ft Myers, Florida and Perry S. Rosenthal, M.D., Needham, Massachusetts. For the past 15 years, Dr. Frank has been an Associate Professor of Optometry as well as Chief of the Low Vision Service of the New England College of Optometry’s Clinical Division the New England Eye Institute. He is a Diplomate in the Cornea/Contact Lens Section and the Low Vision Section of the American Academy of Optometry and a Low Vision Consultant to the Boston Veterans Administration Medical Center as well as the Department of Ophthalmology of the Boston University Medical School.

James R. Taylor, Pharm. D.

Dr. Taylor is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research at The University of Florida. He received his doctor of pharmacy degree from Ohio Northern University. Upon graduation, he completed an ASHP accredited Pharmacy Practice Residency at The Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia. Subsequently, he completed a Family Medicine Residency at The University of Florida. Dr. Taylor joined the faculty at The University of Florida in July 1998. Dr. Taylor maintains several active clinical pharmacy practice sites in ambulatory care, including diabetes and anticoagulation. He also offers an Ambulatory Care residency based out of his clinical practice site. He has given numerous professional presentations on diabetes and other primary care topics.

Michael D. Barrett

Mr. Barrett's considerable experience in health care includes senior executive roles for both payors and providers in both public and private settings. Mr. Barrett has uniquely assisted his employers and clients develop new business units or overhaul existing units to meet and often establish new benchmark standards of performance. Mr. Barrett draws upon his combined experience as an executive on both sides of the payor/provider equation to quickly match up both operating requirements and strategic objectives of each to provide the most efficient and pragmatic operating/sales environment. From SNF acquisition planning and operational strategy development at Henry Ford Hospital in the late 80's to the initiation or overhaul of several successful HMOs to the overhaul of the non-acute business lines of a major medical center, Mr. Barrett has been recognized for quickly identifying the industry's operational weakness and quickly turning his employer/client into the industry benchmark for operating efficiency.

Mr. Barrett has been published in several national media outlets and speaks often at industry conferences on the topics of operational and business strategy in the healthcare industry.

Jim Mattecheck, MBA

Jim Mattecheck has over 28 years software and technology experience across multiple industries. Jim has a long history of improving the performance and sales of enterprise and retail software companies. Jim has been a SVP and General Manager for SAP retail focused on the North American market and He was instrumental in helping SAP drive into the retail market while working closer with many retailers in the go-live projects on the SAP platform. He was executive vice president at SupplyChainge, an emerging technology company focused on providing an optimization engine that dramatically reduces lead times associated with short life cycle products. This solution was leading edge and primarily designed for the Footwear and Apparel industries. Jim has spent a majority of his career focused on the retail and CPG applications market and held leadership positions at Oracle, Retek, Tomax, and CommerceHub. All of these companies are leading providers of solutions for the retail market. Jim provides strong business development and distribution channel experience and he has a unique perspective on the retail industry.

Mr. Mattecheck has an MBA from Notre Dame and Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Portland.

Denise Richardson

Denise Richardson is a noted Consumer Advocate. She belongs to a number of nationally recognized consumer advocacy organizations and is one of the few non-attorney members accepted in the National Association of Consumer Advocates. She is a Board member of American Consumer Credit Education Support Services, a non profit consumer advocacy organization dedicated to educating consumers on financial and privacy matters. As an Advocate, and identity theft victim herself, Denise developed strategic relationships with security experts, attorneys, privacy groups, advocacy organizations and the leading identity theft protection company, LifeLock, all of whom recognize the importance of educating consumers on the dangers of fraud and identity theft. She also partnered with The Federal Trade Commission, a government agency whose principal mission is the promotion of "consumer protection" in order to help promote their Deter, Detect and Defend identity theft awareness program designed to encourage consumers and businesses alike to proactively guard their identities and their data. Denise is often quoted, and frequently featured, as an Author, Identity Theft expert and/or Consumer Advocate in national newspapers and magazines, as well as on national talk radio shows and television news mediums.

Sarah B. Bannon

Ms. Bannon has over 25 years health care experience including nine years in managed care, primarily as Director of Government Programs managing budgets in excess of $70 million, and nine years as a practicing clinician working with chronic physical and behavioral health conditions. She works nationally through the Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC) providing technical assistance and training to physicians and health systems on integrated health care delivery, including clinical and operational implementation, and community partnership building. Ms. Bannon continues to work as a national trainer in the areas of cross-system partnerships, blended funding, and evidenced-based practice models through the Institute for Health Care Studies, the Council for Research and Program Development at Michigan State University, and the Mott Foundation.

Ms. Bannon received her B.A. and M.S. from Michigan State University, and is a licensed Master’s-prepared Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of Michigan. She holds national credentials in Social Work (ACSW), diplomate status from the American Psychotherapy Association (APA), is a certified advanced trainer through BoardSource, and has completed her Six Sigma credential through Vanderbilt University. Ms. Bannon was the past national co-chair regarding Privacy Rules for HIPAA/WEDI and the past state chair of the Government Program’s Committee through the Michigan Association of Health Plans. She is a national reviewer for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration's (SAMHSA) grants and programs.
